Oh come on! You don't know what kind of day he'd had...oh yeah, it was his day off.

Oh come on! Officers are under a lot of stress...oh yeah, he was out joyriding.

Oh come on! He's a cop not a "civilian". He has a super-hero costume and a magic shield! He is impervious to being wrong! So there!
