Wonder what one could do for barrel integrity with a kevlar wrap and some resin?
I wouldn't make fun of the guy, 99% of scientific advancements come after failures reveal things that need improving. Thomas Edisons's struggles to develop a working lightbulb come to mind, and these days we have hundreds (to be literal) people working around the world to develop 3D printable weapons, not just one guy.
