As opposed to a cop getting away with killing somebody because of the status quo?

So flesh it out for us, Joseph: What level of abuse would justify self-defense and an escalating continuum of force up to and including lethal to stop a badged assailant?  Or are we just supposed to die so he can make it home at the end of his shift?
