Mass Hysteria

Newtown schools chief: Teachers will never carry guns in town schools [More]
Or I should  say, Conn. hysteria, which is pretty much the same thing.

I note teacher Jason Adams didn't actually do anything threatening, so this appears to be pure hoplophobia gone viral. I suspect he's probably been doing it for a while and got careless with concealment. Another teacher saw it and reported him. And an armed "Only One" reminded him of why they're called that.

The guy is screwed. Good luck with a 2A defense. That presupposes courts exist to secure the Blessings of Liberty. Just like the other branches of government, right?

I have some feelers out to learn more -- if you have something to add, feel free to comment.

Item last -- I've seen a "friendly fire" tendency to pile on the guy, and will only ask this -- has anyone ever felt compelled to carry when and where the "law" said you couldn't?

Yes. But only several thousand times spanning 29 years and many states.

You mean nullify laws that were violations of the Constitution at their inception?

Signs? What signs?

Compelled, yes. Actually do what was compelling? No. You cannot remain law abiding if you break the law, and I value that right, even though many don't.

Signs? What signs? I'd rather be charged with carrying when a sign was posted than have my family have to sue the merchant for damages due to my death, for not allowing self defense.

Laws that deny the people the right to keep and bear arms are unconstitutional and since the COTUS is the supreme law of the land it means that at least in this case the lawmakers are actually the lawbreakers.

You value the right to obey tyranny? What are you going to do when they order you to turn them in? Do you have a line in the sand? Ever read Thoreau's Civil Disobedience? And just what is 2A for?

I've written before about carrying in CA on the advice of investigating cops when I had a credible death threat and couldn't get a permit literally to save my life. It turns out that happened several years later and managed to extricate myself, wife and then-infant son from a threat from multiple assailants simply by producing -- and could not report it or I'd have gone to jail.

Good to know the school doesn't take REAL threats seriously. Just let everyone know that the school will let anyone enter and do what they wish, and not run into any defensive situation from a teacher who wants to actually be a line of defense for his students.

And let the whole world know about it.

Unreal.
