The Immigrant Secessionist

If a non-"progressive" Southerner suggested that, he'd be called a "hater." [More]

I guess my question for "American by Choice" Shervin is "How does that not revoke the oath you freely took?"

They can secede or they can fall into the ocean, either way we’ll be better off rid of them. I’ll kick in for the wall.

Secession is only regarded as bad by the left when it's about their intended victims trying to get away from them.
When the left wants to set up a separate, little tyrannical state in which they can bully their opponents as they please, they just think that it's a common sense, practical idea.
They're evil like that.
Sorry, Commiefornia, there will be no escape from the Trumpening. You will be compelled to respect your people's Second Amendment rights, no matter how badly you want to enjoy bullying them. As such, you might want to consider growing up and respecting people's rights starting now, rather than crying buckets of crybaby tears later.

I think that Kali wants to go it alone, let 'em! Give everybody who DOESN'T want to live in the Democratic People's Republic of Kalifornia 6 months to go elsewhere and when the big day comes, all then current DPRK residents by default give up their U.S, citizenship. Oh and write into the law enabling Kali's secession that Kali cannot even apply for readmission to the union for FIFTY YEARS! Individual former U.S. citizens could apply for resident alien status and eventually apply for citizenship just like ANY OTHER IMMIGRANT - but they would not be able to do so for 25 years. The only exception to the automatic relinquishment of citizenship would be extended to individuals who were minors on the day secession was final. Upon reaching their majority they would have 2 years to apply for restoration of their U.S. citizenship and move to the U.S.
