I will note that people don't seem to know the full text of the Thirteenth Amendment.
Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.
I don't know what decisions there have been on that, but a plain reading suggests that there is nothing unconstitutional about not paying them.
Steve is right, but this is just a great example of the left’s methods coming back to bite them. When everything is about race and social injustice, then a leftist who APPEARS to have done something with any racial overtones at all is automatically guilty, guilty, guilty!
