Ostensibly people sign up to be peace officers to serve and protect, and swear an oath to the Constitution obliging them to protect the Bill of Rights as much as anything else. The "issue at stake" here is, I believe, what constitutes " an aggressive act "; as perceived by an adrenaline -hyped LEO in a "dark and gloomy night " response ? You ( the victim ) may not be sober, or at least completely "compos mentis" , having just had your normal sleep cycle rudely interrupted by bright lights, multiple loud voices issuing confllcting commands and completely at a loss to establish a logical baseline for anything you're seeing/experiencing . I suspect only jaIbird or gulag veteran could survive this scenario thanks to prior habituation !
It is patently obvious that the only way to end this government muscle problem is to have the most swift and severe punishment possible for the officerS and supervisorS. By that I mean lethal punishment within a week, two at most, of their crime.
No appeal. Straight to the hangman's noose. The punishment must be in close proximity to the day of the crime so it does not fall outside the public memory.
I'm sick and tired of hearing of these events.
