This nitwit is confusing freedom and practicality. Nobody is "requiring" anyone to "carry a gun while [they] pray.” If he doesn't wish to carry, fine!, he doesn't have to. What about the other people in the story who'd feel safer if someone DID carry? How someone could make such a statement immediately after such a horrific event is beyond me. One could hope that this individual has not yet passed on his particular gene for stupid but I suspect it is already too late.
