'If we cannot sleep, de Blasio won't sleep': Furious New York residents honk their horns outside the NYC Mayor's home in the middle of the night over his refusal to address the constant fireworks across the city keeping them up at night [More]I used to work in the fireworks industry in California, initially brought in to help fight municipal ballot measures to ban them. The "rationale" was to blame tepid "safe and sane" fountains for the stuff brought in from Pahrump and beyond that had Morton Thiokol O-rings. In my experience, the prohibitionists were the same tight-@$$ed white "progressives" who are also against guns. I hope they're all losing sleep.
It figures they'd be hostile to John Adams' advice:
It ought to be commemorated as the day of deliverance, by solemn acts of devotion to Almighty God. It ought to be solemnized with pomp, shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires, and illuminations, from one end of the continent to the other, from this time forward, forever.Let's hope this produces a well-deserved Streisand Effect for everyone involved.
