The GoFundMe has zero legs. The only donors are the guy who started it, and a relative. Embarrassing.
I think the revelation that they had no actual contract with the city was the kiss of death.
His attorney maintains what he had in terms of verbal interactions that would have to be testified to under oath as well as his payment and receipt from the city pass the bar for being a contract. In any case, my experience with asking gun owners to step up to the plate when Mike V was dying, or even just to just do something minimal, tells me that wasn't the dealbreaker.
Embarrassing is right-- but it's not the guy doing the fighting who should be.
