These people are still whistling through the graveyard.
They still have not come to grips with the most important political event of our time. It is almost as if, like the inhabitants of Flatland, they are incapable of understanding what their senses are reporting.
What am I babbling about this time?
In 2016, every candidate put forth by the Poobahs of the major parties lost. Every single &^%$ one of them. Why is that? Because the Poobahs have no political power. The political parties have no power. The power is held by the voters they claim to represent.
When the supposed leaders lose contact with, and the support of, those they claim to be leading, cataclysmic results often follow. Consider for a moment the last two times in our history when this has happened, those being the 1760's and the 1850's.
Fasten your seat belts folks, the bumpy ride is just getting started.
