Other than an eternal occupation, a "win" in Afghanistan was indefinable. There was never any purpose for us to be there in the first place. When the war started, bin Ladin wasn't even there. What was our ultimate purpose -- to let the CIA control the heroin trade? To enrich defense contractors?
