Well of course that's fantasy.
Reality sure can be a bitch.
You can take the bill on its face or you can consider "one move ahead" -- will it serve as a "poison pill" against drafting our sons and grandsons as well?
I've always been a fan of the Founders' logic: any war that doesn't have enough public support that the draft is required to fight it is probably a war that the US has no business in. Of course, I'm a child of the Nam era, which just proved it.
