This bothers me on many levels, but it is a metaphor on many others. For one, I honor the idea of flying the flag, but it is utterly disrespectful to allow the flag to fly so long it decays into this condition. But as a symbol for what Demerrhoids are doing to this country, it is very astute. The other problem is letting the trees entangle it. But once again, it is an ample metaphor for the state we’re in.
