Congressman Cloud’s No REGISTRY Rights Act would require ATF to delete all existing firearm transaction records accumulated by the ATF, therefore dismantling their current database and preventing the possible creation of a federal gun registry. We'll first have to see how the midterms go and then have to see if his Republican colleagues have learned anything since they had control last time. They'll also need to take the White House back in '24.

Anybody who thinks this will actually be obeyed has forgotten Janet Reno's apologia for keeping indefinite "backup records" of "instant checks" that the Brady Bill specifically ordered her to expunge after a short time in storage. And as far as I know, all the politicians on "our side" threw up their hands and shrugged, "what can we do?"
