We're the Only Ones Friendly Enough

Maryland Officer Jacai Colson died from friendly fire [More]
If this isn't a good reason for keeping you and me disarmed, I don't know what is.

About That Lancet "Study"

We talked about it briefly here.

DRGO tells us not only is the force behind it a major hoplophobe who advocates they should be "reported," but even more recognized "anti-gun researchers" have said she's full of it.

If you go read this now, I believe many of you will want to join me in sharing the link.

Captain's Log

We're the Only Ones Petty Enough

Three Santa Ana police officers were charged Monday with petty theft, nine months after being caught on camera allegedly stealing at a pot shop during a raid. [More]
I'll bet the theft and destruction that goes along with the threat to life and livelihood doesn't seem all that petty to terror victims.

No One Wants Your Guns, You Paranoids, Redux

Banning guns can’t abolish gun crime but it’s a step in the right direction, which we were right to take [More]
We'd better do it -- otherwise, they'll call us "unreasonable" and "extremists."

First The Record and Mail and now The Guardian.  And we backward Yanks should so strive for the approval of both, don't you think?

DIY

"Israel Police operates in Judea and Samaria in every place and at all times against the phenomenon of producing and possession of makeshift weapons," said the police in a statement. [More]
You mean in spite of all efforts, sufficiently determined people will find a way?

Even guys like this (who really could stand a refresher course in Cooper's rules) ...?

Reaching an Understanding

Obama’s Supreme Court Nominee Garland a Threat to Gun Rights

“JCN chief counsel Carrie Severino said in a blog post that Judge Merrick’s record on the bench since 1997 ‘leads to the conclusion that he would vote to reverse one of Justice Scalia’s most important opinions, D.C. vs. Heller, which affirmed that the Second Amendment confers an individual right to keep and bear arms’”... [More]
Garland wasn’t picked because he’ll disappoint “progressives” on guns. The question now is, will Republicans get scared and figure a critical mass of gun owner will let them get away with caving because they have nowhere else to turn?

We're the Only Ones Undetecting Enough

GOA Defaults on Pledge to Score Immigration on Candidate Grades

So why, when I check GOA’s Congressional ratings, do I see Steve Chabot rated “A,” while immigration watchdog site  Numbers USA scores him at “F-” ? Brad Renstrup gets a “D” on immigration issues and an”A” from GOA. William Johnson gets an “A” from GOA and a “C-” from Numbers USA. Pat Tiberi gets a GOA “B” and an immigration group “F.” James Renacci gets an “A-” from Gun Owners and a “D-” from Numbers. [More]
I expect I'm probably going to lose some "friends" over this one. I don't expect I'll lose any real ones.

We're the Only Ones Uncompromising Enough

The settlement included an apology by the defendant police officer acknowledging respect for citizens’ First and Second Amendment rights and stating “[it] was not my intention to compromise Mr. Howard’s rights under the Constitution.” [More]
Well I hope you guys in Virginia get better training to keep from killing a citizen than Brady Campaign "principled statesman" and  Ohio AG Mike DeSwine is willing to ensure.

Coming Down with Both Boots

The Oregon militia members who occupied a wildlife refuge in protest of the government could face decades in prison under a set of new criminal charges, including firearm offenses, theft of public property and damaging a Native American archaeological site. [More]

Clear As Mud

It's in vested interests to confuse. [View]

I noticed this too, on mine. As near as I can tell, this is what's going on:
66 total delegates - 10 base at-large / 48 re: 16 congressional districts / 3 party / 5 bonus
If you still don't grok the protocol and really want to get confused, allow me to point you to the rules rabbit hole.

Bottom line as I see it, if you favor a particular candidate, vote for him in the at-large block for the whole state and again in the district block for your district.

No One Wants to Take Your Guns!

Well, John Niven does. [More]

Funny, he doesn't flesh out how, what happens if some say "no," and what his personal role in all of this is going to be...
