Lampson is a former Jefferson County tax collector, elected to TX 9th dist in '96, replacing the feckless republican Steve Stockman who had beaten the crooked democrat Jack Brooks in '94. Lampson faced zero serious opposition (like most CONgresscritters) for 3 terms.

In '03 Texas redistricted, tossing Lampson into the 2nd dist where he was spanked by the current rep, former judge Ted Poe.

Not able to deal with being off the public teat, Lampson's running in the 22nd dist, past home of Tom DeLay. When DeLay bailed and headed for the rolling hills of VA to enjoy his fortune, Lampson prevailed over a disorganized republican effort.

Lampson has to toe a pro gun line to get elected. Once back in DC he will talk the talk, but HE WILL WALK WITH OBAMA.

NRA follows some 'friendly incumbent' rule of thumb that does not serve our interests in all cases.

The republican Olson would be a better, but not perfect choice. The best we can hope for in DC is gridlock, Lampson will screw us to the floor while making purely symbolic votes to 'preserve the 2nd'....I am in a neighboring dist and don't have the chance to vote against this opportunistic clown.

One thing I am sick to death of seeing is the NRA backing someone who has a shotgun in their hands. The shotgun seems to be the PC gun of choice for the NRA photo shoots.
We can't have such a person have a 30/30 or an 06 with a big old scope on it because that would not be PC because such a gun could kill Bambi and that would upset PETA and the rest of the mental cases who might make noise.
NRA: "you can trust this elected piece of shit because see he's got a shotgun in his hands and that means he's not after your guns and will never go along with a new AWB".
I'm so sick of this crap I could scream.

I find the GOA ratings (at: http://www.goapvf.org/ )

to be more credible. I don't live in TX, and don't know this Lampson guy. They have him at a "C". They have my own reps who I've fought losing battles w/ on gun control, as C and D, which matches what I've seen on the ground. NRA has them all at "A", and which is worse than useless.

Us white trash don't enjoy the fine high dollar over and under shotguns and want the cheap shit.
You have to understand the NRA is made up of the elitist shot gun owners who don't see any other firearm being its not the standard for the country club high rollers.
Why in the hell does every political whore who wants to control us and our forced taxation show themselves with a shot gun to prove to us that they are supporters of the Second Amendment.
