This is why I as a black kid in the 1970s and now a gun owner was against the Klan marching through black neighborhoods. Being supported by the ACLU. Any mob coming to where you live for any reason is a threat. The ACLU was conditioning the nation to accept such threats in Mass where people lived.
That is the paradox, if you will, of "public property." I will expand on this in another post, maybe tomorrow.
I look forward to reading it.
