Forced by a client to put Denny Crane on the case, Shirley Schmidt reluctantly enlists his help to defend a Democratic Congressman being sued for not keeping a campaign promise to pass a ban on assault weapons. The right-wing Crane is an unlikely defender from the start, but Schmidt really wonders if she made the right decision when he goes missing the day of his closing.
Right. "The right-wing Crane" portrayed by the left-wing Shatner. And we know how skillful media liberals are at not portraying conservatives as stereotypical caricatures.

No Guns Allowed in the Office
All Partners and Associates are reminded that guns are prohibited in the office. Even though recent visits from armed ex-clients have alarmed some CP+S employees, carrying weapons within the confines of Crane, Poole and Schmidt is strictly forbidden (Accept [sic] for Denny Crane who was a Marine Sharpshooter, or a Navy Seal, but either way is trained in the use of firearms and has shown reasonable restraint when discharging them in the office.)
I've never seen the program, but I understand it's popular and many think it's funny. I guess I'll need to watch it tonight (ABC, Tuesdays, 10/9c) to do a propaganda check.

"Accept" instead of "Except", hnnh? Reckon that shows just how dumb Hollywood is on a whole lotta issues!

I watch Boston Legal mainly because my wife likes it. Shatner does a credible job of portraying gun owners as lunatics. Any time his pechant for owning firarms is questioned in any way, he blubbers for a moment obviously at a loss for a valid reason and then settles on some inane "Because I can" type of comment.
Rest assured, they will unfailingly portray gun ownership (and, in this case, the ridiculous concept of wanting to own an "evil assault weapon") as totally indefensible through logic and reason. The only way Denny Crane will be able to win this case is through some outrageous trickery or deceit.
Personally, I think this show has no redeeming value at all. The acting is shallow and the plots are meaningless and unfunny. The only reason I watch it is to spend time with my wife who graciously spends time with me engaged in activities with which she is not enamored.
I'm watching this travesty right now, and it's just a total smear campaign with not a SHRED of truth! ...Except, Wm. Shatner's character just came out with a flintlock, dressed as the Minuteman, and actually made sense in his closing speech (even if it WAS meant to be satire!) Of course, everyone in the courtroom was rolling his eyes. The rest of the whole show was just an assault on gun owners and the 2A. Revolting!
O.K., I'm in the middle of this propaganda piece, and, of course, it is a vile and disgusting attack on gun owners. Hollywood is having a major attack of wet panties in their loss of the "assault weapon" ban. It's good to see them writhe in hatred!
