Placeholders

I'm doing an AmmoLand piece on responses to GOA's alert on "red flag" dangers in the so-called "Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act" and need a place to park a couple screenshots so that I can just link to the Joni Ernst and Chuck Grassley responses. I could always just embed them there, but I think it would distract from the flow of what I want to say.

Open these in a new tab to enlarge and read:

Bumped Up

The DOJ’s legal team did take a beating and, at times, seemed unprepared. Gun owners must have a good feeling after the hearing today, but court decisions are one of the hardest things in life to predict. [More]

In other words, you can be right but it doesn't matter.

We're the Only Ones Excellent Enough

"Literally, there's only one person in the organization that could do this," State Patrol Col. John Bolduc told the Journal Star on Monday, three days after Anna Idigima was charged with conspiracy to distribute cocaine or fentanyl after $1.2 million worth of narcotics came up missing from the State Patrol evidence facility she oversaw.  [More]

Excellent!

Overriding Instincts

And who put her in this position? The President. The Senate. The Democrats in the Senate. Not one Democratic Senator was willing to stand up for male students, for due process, for the Constitution. Not one. [More]

Any Democrat mother or father of sons not outraged by this and driven to protect their offspring with their very lives probably considered it a disposable choice anyway.

A GOOD Gun-Grabber

Everything we’ve mentioned above is not important if you are a trained marine! [More]

Yes, in fact, it is.

The aggressor presented an opportunity an assailant who wasn't a total moron would not have. And this happened to be a case where, due to immediately unfolding circumstances, grabbing the gun was the most effective reaction.

Much admiration to the customer who had the presence of mind, the skill, and most importantly, the will to take advantage of that. Most would have frozen, and this looked like the type of situation that would have ended in shots regardless of "giving" the skittish cowards "what they wanted."

A Good First Step

The bill spells out in black and white that “an unorganized militia member, at his own expense, shall have the right to possess and keep all arms that could be legally acquired or possessed by a South Carolina citizen as of December 31, 2020.” That nails it down so Biden can’t grab it away later. [More]

It's not "every terrible implement of the soldier," but it's a start. First, get this done -- I see it's been buried in committee for over half a damn year...

They also need to work on this:

...the so-called “unorganized militia” of United States Code, which, according to lawyer and Constitutional scholar Dr. Edwin Vieira, is in itself an example of Congressional “malfeasance… beyond the pale.”

“Under no circumstances may Congress leave the Militia unorganized, unarmed, or undisciplined--let alone knowingly and intentionally impose such conditions,” Vieira instructs. The very term is “an oxymoron,” he shows.

Otherwise, it couldn't be "necessary to the security of a free State."
