Prior Claim

When checking to see how my new AmmoLand article is propagating, I came to find out Dean Weingarten beat me to the punch -- significantly.

This was the genesis of my piece.

Texas AG Destroys Media’s Anti-Gun Narrative on CNN: 'More People Need to Carry' to Prevent Tragedies [More

True enough. Will he lead the charge to call for the elimination of "gun-free zones" where they're not "allowed" to? Maybe not prosecute if no threat existed?

It Depends Upon What the Meaning of the Word 'Gun' Is

At issue is whether a key piece of one of America’s most popular firearms meets the definition of a gun that prosecutors have long relied on. [More]

Who thinks discouraging constituents they don't want to have to put up with wasn't a major motivator?

Perhaps realizing many who wish to make their voices heard could now be blocked, VCDL could have designated proxies, each presenting names for the record of 10 or so gun owners who have chosen them to represent their interests?  That way, the brunt could take place in the armed rally outside, and not have to leave their guns locked in their cars?

UPDATE: Never mind.

As a matter of who I fear most, I don't want the government having a free key, either. This may sound naive to those of you who understand such things, but couldn't an Apple tech be the one to unlock the phones under chain-of-custody supervision without giving the feds any encryption overrides, and then just turn over the court-ordered data?

By Popular Demand

To create a system where every vote counts equally, the Constitution must be amended. To do this, Congress should pass legislation reducing the size of Washington, D.C., to an area encompassing only a few core federal buildings and then admit the rest of the District’s 127 neighborhoods as states. These states — which could be added with a simple congressional majority — would add enough votes in Congress to ratify four amendments: (1) a transfer of the Senate’s power to a body that represents citizens equally; (2) an expansion of the House so that all citizens are represented in equal-sized districts; (3) a replacement of the Electoral College with a popular vote; and (4) a modification of the Constitution’s amendment process that would ensure future amendments are ratified by states representing most Americans. How Scalia Botched Heller and Let the Left Undermine the 2nd Amendment [More]

I've pointed that out before.

I've also repeatedly pointed out that we can expect no truly fundamental change unless there's a credible "or else" attached to a demand. And that until our major gun groups get serious about the real intent of the Second Amendment, the erosion will continue.

Who Really Didn't See This Coming?

With GOP support, Florida Senate panel backs closing gun show loophole [More]

By making "lesser of two evils" excuses and urging everyone to heed the voice of "pragmatism," GOP backstabbers and squishes have been rewarded for betrayals instead of punished. Had some prominent examples been made just a few times decades ago, followed by repeat examples when warranted, the line would be toed if not out of principle then out of self-preservation.

Instead, the longterm was sold out for the short term and we got phony "A" grades for conmen whose actions never lived up to their pledges. Did anyone really think most Republicans actually supported us, as opposed to had to suck up to us? And once they see they don't need to, did anyone really believe such creatures would stand by us?

You don't need to lobby real leaders to do what's right. They're already out in front of it and leading the charge.

I get invites all the time but I can't join groups on social media because I only use it to publicize the articles I write. There's no other way for me to get the word out there and after a full day -- and they are full days and then some -- there is just no time left for me to engage any deeper.

That said, having spent 16 years in a past life producing directives for a defense contractor specializing in satellite navigation and communications, I fully agree with the concept being promoted, and have, on occasion, advocated using social media "for C3I purposes" instead of "trivial" ones.

A quote would be in order:

"Communications are the nervous system of the entire SAC organization, and their protection is therefore, of the greatest importance. I like to say that without communications, all I control is my desk, and that is not a very lethal weapon." Gen. T.S. Power, CINCSAC, May 1959

I encourage you to check 2A*C3 out and invite them to keep me apprised of significant developments they are working on.
