Pelosi Makes It Official: "We're Above the Law"

Just in case anyone still had any doubts...

And just in case anyone doesn't grasp the full weight of this, it's a literal declaration of war on you. She's saying they can commit crimes against you and not be held accountable. You will have no legal recourse. If you don't like it, do something about it.

That is the definition of tyranny. This is why they want our guns. [More]

"Ban It Any Way You Can"

Kemp had likewise abandoned his long pro-RKBA record in 1993, saying during an appearance on NBC's Meet the Press, "Ban it any way you can," in response to host Tim Russert's question about his views on the "assault weapons" law. [More]
With all the "conservative" paeans I see being sent around, we need to keep some essential realities in mind.

From another source:
On Meet the Press (3/7/93), Kemp said, "I believe in the constitutional right to own guns. But you don't need . . . assault weapons like AK47 submachine guns or Uzis to be a hunter or a legitimate sportsman. Ban it any way you can." [Source: Martin Schram, "Kemp Takes Gun Position," 1993 Newspaper Enterprise Association, 7 April 1993.]

If This Doesn't Make You Feel More Secure in Your Own Homeland, Nothing Will

Ashton Lundeby, 16, is being held under the USA Patriot Act on a criminal complaint that a bomb threat was made from his Oxford home the night of Feb. 15. [More]
Coming soon for all those rightwing domestic terrorist extremists near you.

Hey, Mom, maybe it's time you did start "believ[ing] in guns."

I'm wondering what there is to lose for not going quietly if you think you can't even get a trial...

And thanks for making this all possible, Vote Freedom First President! I'm sure The Lightworker thanks you, too.

All I Need to Know

"I promise to keep people safer in this city," Trutanich said. "My gun policy is -- if it's a law, it's going to get enforced." [More]
And this is our "friend."

There I go being divisive again.

Kentucky Derby Update: Festival Places Dead Last

Chaz has left a new comment on your post "Kentucky Derby Stumbling Out of the Starting Gate":

Well, for all you cynics and surrender monkeys and quitters, some news to surprise you - the Derby Festival people caved in! They took the 'no firearms' posting off their web site and the Louisville Metro police announced that concealed carry by permit holders would be permitted in all the areas except the beer tents, exactly as allowed by the statutes.

KC3 knocked this one out of the park, and a lot of it was the pressure brought on them by people responding to our blog and all the others who pitched in to spread the word. Thanks for the support!

Captain once held by pirates urges military protection, armed crews [More]
Naturally, "His boss disagrees."

His damned fascist money-grubbing traitor to humanity boss ought to go through the same experience.

And surprise, surprise:
Panel members expressed interest in the idea of arming crews.

"Historically we have deputized citizens to engage in law enforcement activities, going way back to the posses," said Sen. John F. Kerry (D-Mass.), the committee chairman.
True, and not just at sea, senator. But defending yourself is hardly engaging in "law enforcement" requiring state sanction, is it now?

Oh...I guess in practice, thanks to the commonly accepted practice of "permitting" RKBA, it kind of is, and doesn't that show how far we've strayed? I guess that's why so many in the media refer to self defense as "vigilantism."

We're the Only Ones Electrifying Your Kids Enough

A Florida corrections officer was fired after zapping children with 50,000 volts of electricity during a "Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day" tour. [More]
You can't make this stuff up. Where do they get these morons from? What kind of total meathead would think this is a good idea? And why do they have authority over others?

And if it's a kids at work day, doesn't that mean the idiot consenting parents are also "Only Ones"?

Why is this not considered felony child endangerment? Where is Child Protective Services, taking the children out of the homes of parents with such appalling judgment and willingness to allow others to violently abuse their kids with devices that have proven lethal in many instances? Can anyone say with certainty the effects this can have on smaller body masses and developing bodies?

And because such consent amounts to "domestic violence," where are the resulting charges that will forever turn these parents into "prohibited persons" under Lautenberg?

Videos Contrast Reasoned vs Emotional Approaches to 'Gun Control'

It's a beautiful day today where I live and also in much of the country. What in the world are we doing here? For those of you who are in the house today, here are two video clips I'd like to call your attention to. [More]

This Day in History: May 3

I am well informed, from various parts of the Country, that the pernicious practice of Gaming has been exceedingly injurious to the recruiting Service; not only in point of the Officer's time being taken up; but that they have been so lost to all sense of Honor, that the Money drawn and intended for Bounty has been Squander'd this way. it therefore becomes a matter of great concern, that every Commander of a Regiment should be particularly attentive, that this Evil may be prevented from creeping in amongst them, and punish it in a most exemplary manner, upon its first appearance.
