Mini Simp Odium

The threat of liability would force establishments to post clear gun policies—either to avoid liability by banning guns or to recoup the cost of liability by prominently advertising the permissibility of guns. [More]
This guy thinks it should be one-sided like that, and he's the teacher?

So I guess Duke officials won't be signing any of these soon...

UPDATE: Here's another one on going nut ... uh ... gut ... uh ... gunless.

Like a Gut Nachbar

A red flag law allows you to officially snitch on your neighbors, relatives or friends, and have them detained without bringing real charges. You can do it out of fear, or just suspicion that people you know may be "up to something" without proof. The cops can break in, confiscate property (arms), and the person you rat out ends up with giant legal bills, court dates, a permanent blot that can't be removed -- and they didn't actually do anything -- you just used your expanded legal "right" to red flag the person. [More]
Those Opposite Day "progressives" sure are "forward-thinking."

Licky Liccardo

While the Second Amendment protects a right to bear arms, it does not require taxpayers to subsidize the exercise of that right. [More]
The hell it doesn't, you liar.

If we did, those abusing it would be taken care of in short order.

We're the Only Ones Keepin' on Truckin' Enough

A former Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) agent was convicted Tuesday of lying and falsifying records to hide a long-running scheme to skim money and other property during drug busts. In one scheme, he convinced a confidential informant buy a truck so the agent could seize it through asset forfeiture. [More]
The story's not without laughs though. For instance, that bit about "plac[ing] an unnecessary stain on an otherwise stellar agency"...

Snotty tone of the article notwithstanding, we're sure what's needed isn't a custodian...?

You'll forgive me if I urge caution before praising his evangelism.  Apply caution before crediting "pro-gun" celebrities -- I've seen some gun owners gush over them, only to later discover they ain't quite the pals they've been presumed to be.

In any case, as with "anti-gun stars," fame and reach should never be confused with depth of knowledge or legitimacy of opinions.

Falling Flat

“I know a couple of students, more than a couple, that didn’t come back just because at this flat rate tuition they can’t afford MSU anymore,” MSU Black Student Alliance President Sharron Reed-Davis said. [More]
That's exactly what I do when I can't afford something.

Either that or, if I really want something, take on extra work to be able to pay for it.

Spoken Like a True Religious Bigot

That’s what certain religious people do. Not atheists. [More]
I'd argue that fanatical certainty that there is no God based on our limited dataset and capacity as observers simply cannot be definitive. I'd think an honest doubter who perceives inconsistencies within religious claims and between them with testable reality would call himself an agnostic.

There's a huge difference.

I do agree with one point though -- F' 'em if they can't take a Papist smear.  As long as Northam has the power to stack the deck and Virginia taxpayers are willing to forget their state motto and be fleeced to promulgate rabble-rousing subversives like the Council of Women, she did nothing that should not be First Amendment-protected. I say the more radically offensive, the more unintended consequences we'll have to exploit.

We're the Only Ones Recruited Enough

During the investigation, it was determined that Bowen briefly worked as a police recruit for the Clayton County Police, however he was terminated prior to completion of the academy.  [More]
