Putting Knowledge into Practice

“Laney spent her life in the outdoors and was an experienced and knowledgeable operator in the back country." [More]

I know plenty of people less experienced and knowledgeable about the Colorado backcountry who would nonetheless be better prepared for the lethal dangers it presents.

I've explained many times before why a "shall not be infringed" hardliner supports a group that teaches gun dealers how to comply. There's no inconsistency with that -- listen in and find out why.

So Much for Freedom of Conscience

Because Mike committed  the unforgivable sin of leaving the building he works in by opening a door, the full force of the left is being rained down on him. He has been stripped of committee assignments, locked out of his own workplace unless he daily asks for permission, pilloried in the press and is now facing criminal charges. [More]

Which makes the betrayal by squish Republicans all the more unforgivable...

The more I think about this, being compelled to show up so that your enemies can pass edicts you oppose really does seem to be a First Amendment issue.

Minority Report

He invited them into this home. And when he did, they told McDaniel something he could hardly believe: an algorithm built by the Chicago Police Department predicted — based on his proximity to and relationships with known shooters and shooting casualties — that McDaniel would be involved in a shooting. That he would be a “party to violence,” but it wasn’t clear what side of the barrel he might be on. He could be the shooter, he might get shot. They didn’t know. But the data said he was at risk either way. [More]

An Idea Whose Time Has Come?

You'll Get No Argument from Me

From WarOnGuns Correspondent Jess, via email:

I read somewhere, a few days ago, that the reason that there were so many people to be interviewed at that congressional hearing last week, was so that no one could get a good grilling, particularly Chipman. Might I suggest that if the commie-dims try to pull that shit again, our side will automatically vote no on all the others and only question the turd that they really want to light up.Chipman, in this case. Of course this would first require a spine implantation for a number of those that are allegedly on our side.

At Issue

Now, I don’t really have an issue with ... Acevedo’s call to ensure that violent felons found in possession of a firearm face serious prison time. [More]

I do.

And I wouldn't be siding with Acevedo on any part of this.

Do you really believe you can control that genie once it's outside the bottle? And now that you've told everyone you think some "gun control" works, you've just "legitimized" the grabbers to go for more whether you meant to or not. Do you really believe you can limit it to just the "violent"?

Besides, it's easier to become a "violent felon" than most think:

Maybe you mouth off about your "rights". We'll assume you're luckier than Don Scott, the Weavers, and the little kiddies at Waco, so the police merely beat you and claim you attacked them. Besides a gun "crime," you're also convicted of a "violent crime".

Good luck fighting his and his partners' word in court -- especially if you have limited means -- and good luck trying to "legally" own a gun without fear of arrests with "enhancements" after that.

How about we get some "Supreme Law" with Bill of Rights enforcement before our "gun rights leaders" stir up their followers to demand more "order"...? Convincing a critical mass this is about "crime" plays into the hands of those who know it's really about power.

That shouldn't be hard to verify, not that the DSM with the resources has any interest in altering the narrative. Who would be the friendliest congressperson to ask and who has a way to actually contact them? How else could this be determined? A FOIA request with the Architect of the Capitol? Information Held Back on Miami ‘Mass Shootings’ as Acevedo Pounces

With the public still in danger from such ruthless and now desperate predators being on the loose, one would think descriptions of the suspects would be in order. There were plenty of survivors at both incidents who no doubt have provided authorities with details, and sharing those could only help increase the chances that someone might make a sighting worth investigating. Instead, and no surprise here, Miami’s gun prohibitionist police chief is blaming “gun laws” and calling for more of them. [More]

Once more political correctness and agenda take precedence over public safety.  Leave it to useful idiots like ingrate Art Acevedo -- a refugee who escaped Casto's Cuba and now tries to mandate that communist tyrant's "¿Armas para que?" crap in the country that took him in -- to ensure that the homicidal violence will only spread.
