Getting the Word Out About Gun Rights Examiner
I'll be on a couple radio shows and wanted to get the word out--I was going to append these announcements to the column I couldn't post today due to site server problems.
Anyway, click here to read this announcement. I'll be back with my regular GRE column tomorrow.
I Still Can't Access Examiner
Apparently there are intermittent server problems and the tech team is working on it. Some of you can access it and others cannot. I'm in the "cannot" faction.
Because the opportunity to capture traffic today has been so severely impacted, I'm going to hold off posting what I wrote for today about the Oakland shootings.
In the mean time, keep trying to see if you can access my page for what I posted over the weekend. I have an announcement for this Thursday I think the regulars here will appreciate.
UPDATE: Everything appears to be working again.

There Oughtta Be a Law
Now, Jessie's parents are attempting to launch a national campaign seeking laws to address "sexting" - the practice of forwarding and posting sexually explicit cell-phone photos online. The Logans also want to warn teens of the harassment, humiliation and bullying that can occur when that photo gets forwarded. [More]The Logans are free to warn anyone they want about anything they like. As for the rest of it, my natural inclination to feel sympathy for them has been overshadowed by more negative sentiments.
We're the Only Ones Certified Enough
Cutts was one of 10 officers convicted in the past five years that the AP found still had the authority to make an arrest or carry a gun, at least on paper. [More]So according to the law, a convicted murderer "Only One" is technically still more trustworthy to keep and bear arms than I am...?

Propaganda is Routinely Being Parroted
“Firearms are routinely being transported from the U.S. into Mexico in violation of both U.S. and Mexican law,” William Hoover, assistant director of field operations for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF), told the subcommittee. [More]If that's true, it does kind of show you how well those laws work at stopping bad guys, doesn't it?
I truly am tired of these opportunistic functionaries.
Hey Bill--tell me which gun store or "damned American gun show" I can go to to pick up a few cases of full-auto battle rifles and grenades.
One north of the border, I mean.

Gun Rights Examiners Launch Website
While we're waiting for the official Examiner.com site to stop producing error messages, I want to introduce you to a site you can go to that will give you "one-stop shopping" for all Gun Rights Examiner commentary--mine as well as the folks handling a dozen cities nationwide.
Check out (and bookmark) www.gunrightsexaminers.com. It's the creation of Cleveland GRE Daniel White, and I'm very grateful that he took the time, made the effort and showed the leadership to do this. It's especially been a pain because Examiner urls are long and convoluted--so this give us a common link we can use to better publicize our work.
Obama Rewrites Second Amendment?
From the official White House website [More]:
I suppose just posting the Bill of Rights without agenda-driven editorial interpretations would be too complicated?
What presumptuous frauds these scoundrels are. Tell me there isn't intent here.
What the government giveth, the government taketh away? Not while I breathe.
And yes--I've checked to see if this is carryover language. So far, it looks like it's new.
The Second Amendment gives citizens the right to bear arms.

Technical Difficulties
If you try to access Gun Rights Examiner this morning, you will probably get an error message.
Try it.
This began becoming a problem yesterday. Now it looks like I and some others can't access the site at all. I'll announce today's column as soon as it becomes accessible. In the mean time, you might want to try back on this link in a bit.

This Day in History: March 23
I wrote to you the 13th, directing you to order eight of the Regiments of your State, to march, with the greatest expedition, to Peeks Kill; I then gave you my Reasons for this alteration of my former orders. Altho' I called upon you in the most pressing manner, to hurry the Troops on, I cannot help again repeating my distress for the want of Men. [More]
