Not a Done Deal

Speaker Ryan Confident GOP Will Keep House in Midterms, Emphasizes Focus on Results Not Rhetoric [More]
Yeah, I know, Ryan.

Still, he makes some valid points and articles like this can help encourage those losing nerve over the media-fueled "blue wave" psyops designed to dishearten and discourage.

Now if the damn "moderate Republicans" would just stop dousing belly fires.

Trump is right. It won't be his fault, it will be theirs.

It Depends Upon What the Meaning of the Word 'Respect' Is

For "progressives," every day is Opposite Day.

And for Steve Knight, he's done good things but there's a problem with longterm undermining.

Now How Do We Blame This on NRA?

'Children's bodies are everywhere': NINETEEN people are killed in Crimean school massacre after student walks into canteen and opens fire - as video shows teenagers screaming and fleeing gunshots and bomb blasts -- Vladislav Roslyakov, 18, stalked his college halls with a shotgun, shooting 17 dead and then killing himself [More]
Something must be done!

What? It already has been?

How about something else?

Good thing they're not "developed."

Shotgun, eh?

There's That Word Again

On Monday, CNN reported that Saudi Arabia was preparing to release a report that would blame Khashoggi's death on a botched interrogation. [More]
How come every time governments get caught causing violent deaths the media trots out the "b" word?

I'm not asking for me, but Inigo is kind of a stickler for these things.

Plus the scorecards.

Experience hath shewn these to be more reliable than a "staunch supporter of the Second Amendment" assurance from Fairfax.   That said, when I get a free moment, I'll need to see if a certain promise on scoring immigration is being kept.

Flying True

Longtime readers will remember WarOnGuns Correspondent Straightarrow.

His daughter is trying to compile his writings, unfortunately scattered about the web. That's one dedicated act of love, and further speaks to the character of a man who would inspire such devotion.

Most of his observations here were in the form of blog comments, and I just don't know any way to retrieve those without going through a post-by-post search.  If you know a way to get around that, or if you corresponded with him and have anything you can share with her, leave a comment below or use the contact form in the left sidebar to shoot me an email.

We're Not the 'Only Ones'

Ordinary people who shoot police in legitimate self-defense now have a chance of their actions being recognized as lawful. [More]
If it's "legitimate self-defense," we ought to have more than "a chance."

A Temporary Power Outage

Federal court finds for worker fired by company after keeping gun in vehicle [More]
This whole business of having to consent to a search of your car is another intolerable condition of employment. If a worker commits a workplace infraction there are escalating disiciplinary policies that can be applied based on severity, ranging from verbal and written warnings to suspension and termination,

Searches with probable cause are for criminal investigations.

Ameren relies on public right of way easements to exist. If they really want to pull the property rights card, let's look at everybody's hands.

The same should apply to ISPs and all those search/social media oligopolies. You know, just to be consistent with Barack's "You didn't build that..."
