How much more ignorant must constituents who elect such incompetents be?

Limitless Power?

Instead of a $400 contribution limit for the entire political movement as a whole, the legal limit now becomes $400 per person. Since there is no limit on the number of people who can do this, for most practical purposes, there is now no legal limit on the group. [More]
I pass this on to those of you who grok such things. I have tried, and I have some kind of mental block that takes me back 40+ years to pulling an all-nighter studying for an Econ midterm and reading the same paragraph over and over again with the same frustration as if I were trying to decipher hieroglyphs. If somebody said "blockchain" to me at this point, I'd probably burst into tears.

Of Course You Realize This Means War

U.S. Appeals Court upholds AG Maura Healey’s interpretation of assault weapons ban [More]
I see GOAL has not decided on an appeal to SCOTUS. We have a right to know the government's ultimate intentions but must make sure the arguments are centered on the Founding intent of an armed citizenry keeping and bearing weapons suitable for militia utility. That way there will be no weasel-wording around a John Roberts-led court ruling justifying armed rebellion.

Speaking of which, I had an occasion the other night to watch Amistad, and found it interesting that the movie version of the High Court's opinion acknowledged the slaves were "free individuals with certain legal and moral rights, including the right to engage in insurrection against those who would  deny them their freedom."

You could say that's implied if not specifically stated in the actual decision, but I found it curious to see that rhetoric in a film coming out of Hollywood and Spielberg. Then again, I was half-expecting to see Anthony Hopkins' John Quincy Adams wheeled in front of the court on an upright gurney wearing a muzzle mask.

We're the Only Ones Unreleased Enough

All Things Being Equal

It’s the same rules for everybody. [More]
Not really. We can be prosecuted for defending our lives with a gun if we're in the wrong place. Plus if the cops are lying and withholding evidence, chances are it will be done against us instead of for us.

And don't get me started on if the attacker you're defending yourself against is an "Only One"...

Roblan has been telling people he “must” vote for it in committee but plans to vote “no” on the floor.  This is a ruse. As we said, if it gets to the floor it passes, and Roblan knows that. [More]
In other words, he thinks his gun owner constituents are ignorant. I guess if enough don't tell him they're on to that trick and won't stand for it, he'll be right.

Speaking of Aptronyms

The problem is — and I’m hardly alone in thinking this — that the NRA doesn’t really support me, at least anymore. Their mission, once focused on education, safety and proficiency, seems to have narrowed to a fixation on the preservation of both Republican politicians and the unfettered ability to buy, sell and carry any and every kind of firearm in every conceivable time and place. [More]
So says "Greg Hunter," Fudd and Democrat apparatchik. Way to give aid and comfort to the enemies of gun owners, Quisling. If I were an FFL and I knew this guy, I'd tell him to get the hell out of my store.

You want the NRA's original mission? It was to train American citizens to become proficient in keeping and bearing “weapons of war.”

Here's where being marginalized by the media and the search engines kills us-- by having this disinformation appear on NBC News, this will get thousands of times more eyeballs than niche "gun advocacy" sites can draw, and influence thousands of times more voters. That's the reason behind the only thing I ask of readers, not that most will bother.

To reiterate, it's not "us" creating "conspiracy theories": Mr. Stamboulieh, Mr. Savage and I are simply repeating what the government is saying, and if that results in inferences and conclusions, they are the ones who can clear it all up -- and won't.

I received the Chisolm letter from the principals the other day along with the document that prompted this response. There's more to say, which I will in a day or so when I finish some other stuff I'm working on first.

The main "spoiler" I'll give away is that the government attorney is being cute here, and I don't think the federal judiciary is going to appreciate that.

Stay tuned.

So I can take it there's no truth to what I'm being told, that no vote on that was actually taken, but instead, unanimous consent was recorded because there was no other candidate and thus no objection? If so, is it a distinction without a difference?

I don't know how that works but am simply trying to understand what went down to make sure the reports accurately reflect that.
