Shooter in Boulder

Is this what the blood-dancers have been waiting for?

Looks like my question is being answered.  No name of the suspect yet, so let's see what happens to any internet footprints.

The shooting occurred in January 2018, after police were called to the Albers home on a welfare check for the teen, who was believed to be suicidal. Jenison shot Albers six times as the teenager backed out of the driveway. Jenison was paid $70,000 in severance when he left the department. Militarized Gun Confiscation in Montana?

Nearly thirty years after Ruby Ridge, it seems that the only real lesson federal agencies applied from Ruby Ridge and Waco is that they needed to do a better job of keeping their activities out of the eyes of the public.  Why?  Because a similar event occurred in Western Montana on February 2, 2021, and it’s likely you’ve not heard anything about it. [More]

Stipulating that the DSM routinely commits lies of both commission and omission, it's also likely because this story gives us no way to independently verify any of its claims. There are no names, including of agencies, what appear to be active links to documentation are underlining, there are no copies of warrants or arrest records from the principals involved, and there is only a statement at the end by the Montana Daily Gazette saying they stand by it, meaning they are aware of the deficiencies and have not attempted to address them.

This one is making the rounds on gun forums and I see I'm not the only one scratching his head.

I've tweeted to the Flathead County Sheriff in an attempt to find something to hook onto so that the claims can be investigated for validity.

@FlatheadSheriff Since your department is named in this report, and since the assessment of its accuracy is of significant public interest, will you please issue a statement of your involvement and the facts as you understand them?

Also, from Agustin Blazquez - Cuban refugee and ACAT Speaker:

Today I received the complete film PLANTADOS.  It's the story of Cuban political prisoners who refused to wear the uniform of common prisoners and preferred to be in their underwear.  I think this is a good teaching material for Americans to learn the horror of a communist prison and how the prisoners are treated, plus the condition that those prisons are inside and without proper food or medical attention and the constant beating by their jailers.  I can see that the producer of this film wants the film to circulate now to wake up Americans. The film has subtitles in English. [Watch]

It's almost two hours so I've got to carve out the time for that. I'm looking forward to it, though, and if the little bit I did find time for is any indication of the rest, I want to do it soon, and may even use it as the basis for an article.

For the Record

WarOnGuns Correspondent Dave Licht tells me he still hasn't received an answer to his query about what one supplier would do with records of polymer 80 frame purchases should ATF show up and demand them.

I think we can assume suppliers would surrender records on demand, including the auction and personal sale meet-up ad sites. It's not like they enjoy any form of lawyer/client or journalist/source privilege, and what we see happening with that weasel Michael Cohen shows the state holds the cards anyway.

Some of the "blame" for this falls on our "gun rights leaders," who brokered prior restraints as a "compromise" and then turned a deliberate deaf ear to BIDS as a way to mitigate some of the damage by removing personal identifiers from transfers.
