We have just learned that the Chief Firearms Office in Ontario is initiating a pilot program to begin limited home inspections in the Toronto area.
CSSA Executive Director Larry Whitmore sent me this link to legal information they have made available to those at risk.
Think about it. Mandatory inspections. Warrantless searches. A requirement to self-incriminate. Presumed authority to seize property. All against registered collectors under the guise of "public safety," with a liberal sprinkling of the word "reasonable," and even sneaking in the Orwellian fraud of "voluntary compliance."
That'll show Ontario's violent criminal underclass.
Keep an eye on this one for adaptation here. You know our enemies will.

I thought CA already did some of this with the whole .50 cal ban. Didn't they check their lists of who owned the affected firearms and then conduct no-knock inspections of those who had not turned in their registered weapons?
Yes, they did that several years ago when they banned a whole slew of "evil military style weapons" without grandfathering, and without compensation.
This is a *new* initiative, which targets elderly gun collectors, to "ensure compliance" with the "safe storage" laws. Of course, they are using this as a smokescreen to divert the public's attention away from their inability to deal with the *real* criminals who commit *real* crimes.
It's easier to harass law-abiding citizens who don't shoot back, donchyaknow...
