whats frightening, is that this kid thinks he's either "more educated" than our founding fathers who formed this country with the defense of the 2A. this kid is another tool. i left a comment for him. we'll see if it stays.

Having just read your editorial about the right to keep and bear arms, I too have discovered something "truly frightening".
I am truly frightened that at some point in the future you will be loosed on the society with documentation that states you are educated. I do not see how that can be, given your lack of critical thinking skills. And it truly frightens me that you may end up in a decision making position still arrogant enough to believe you are philosophically, morally, and intellectually superior to the unique collection of geniuses that founded this nation on principles that are timeless and idealistic within the confines of human nature.
You need a lot more seasoning, before you are qualified to have an opinion. Do it again after you do some thinking of your own, when you can give an opinion that isn't just parroting what you have always been told by people with an agenda that does not honor the individual.
Hell, you could use your own examples to prove the falsity of your position if you actually thought about them, rather than accepting what others told you those examples prove.
I predict you will not understand what I just said, refer to the part about "critical thinking skills".

Very well put. I basically said the same thing. I congratulated him for being more educated on the 2A than our founding fathers.
For some unknown reason, I was able to write this guy an email that was very nice. I sent him a link to my website's page on guns. So far it hasn't been "bounced" as undeliverable. We'll see.
I posed as "angel" and writing a paper. and I asked him what his sources were for the california/uk gun homicide statistics. we'll see if he'll post that and not ours.
I can't accuse them of rejecting my comments for content, because I was never able to deliver them. I assumed after an interval of response that they didn't want to play anymore.
Let me know if that is incorrect and I will try again.
Being the glutton for punishment that I am, I too wrote a response.
It's in limbo, awaiting 'moderation'. I'll be surprised if it sees the light of day, as I specifically suggested that if this was the result of a College Education, he should seek a refund.
I'm sorry. I'm mentally strained these days ... I could not think of a logical, reasoned response. All I could think of was that this boy needs to seek his lost anatomy instead of an education. I didn't know you had to be neutered to get into college these days.

While it does help to be neutered before entering college, it is not a prerequisite. In fact there are a few departments where it can be a handicap. Chief among these would be Military History ( I know from experience) and I believe Mechanical Engineering. OTOH, that may be one of the reasons that so many Military History Chairs are sitting empty at schools across the country. You see, Military History Profs tend to become cynical, if they do not start out that way. The study of military history tends to lead into the dark dank corners and closets full of bones. As a result, the worst aspects of people and governments are commonplace to the military historian. To be fair some of the most heroic and awe inspiring actions are also unearthed, though those are typically performed by relativey small numbers of people.
Regardless, this tends to breed either conservatism, or more often libertarianism. Obviously, this tends to set the military history profs at odds with many others in the faculty and administration.
Of course he finds it "frightening" that gun rights advocates aren't a gaggle of simple-minded, ignorant rubes--having one's preconceptions shattered is hard for anybody.
