I'm sorry, ladies, but except for extremely rare exceptions, that will never be enough. That's just the way it is.
Wouldn't you rather be able to reach for something that will give you a chance to repel an attacker without having to be touched?
And don't worry about loudmouthed fools who say an attacker would just take the gun away and use it against you. Invariably, they are all talk and slink away when asked to demonstrate how that's done.

The article called her a hero, and that she very nearly beat him. But "very nearly" only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades, and she's still a dead hero. A gun would have made the difference.
