When it comes to discussing the Second Amendment, liberals check at the door their ability to think rationally.
I'd argue they do that on just about every issue. Still it's nice to see a cogent intellectual argument presented to those who normally don't see such things.
Predictably, with a lot of the "dont confuse us with the facts" belligerents haunting Daily Kos comments, it's a wasted effort. Reason only works with reasonable people.

I read some of the comments over there.
If one looks at Kos in general, one will discover that the average Kos commenter hates King George Bush and everything he stands for - including the invasion and occupation of Iraq.
But when it comes to guns, many believe that only Bush's army should have guns.
They don't like their King, but would actively cede all gun ownership to the King.
Typical liberal "logic."
