I'm Not Sure What Would Have Worked Better Here...

...rules prohibiting guns on premises, or laws allowing employees to keep guns locked up in their cars.

Since nobody is discussing doing what you think is right regardless of any rules and keeping your mouth shut about it, I guess that's not an option.

Besides, I'm sure you couldn't get a permit for that.

Any time, any place...

A sunny summer day halfway to the weekend. Helplessness ALWAYS bites.

Well if they were discussing it, they wouldn't exactly be keeping their mouths shut about it. Maybe "Codrea-style" carry is more prevalent than you realize.

There ought to be a law...against murder!

Look at the picture in article. Can anyone read if that is a "no guns" sign on the front of the building?

Noticed that myself, dm, but enlarging only blurred.

Hopefully someone who knows will say.

I can just make out that the international "no" sign on the door is about smoking. Definitely a cigarette with two lines representing smoke. The others break up too much to even guess.

On the bright side I'm sure the second responders and the Brady Bunch, VPC, et.al. are all congratulating the second responders on their response time.

Not one body got up and walked away before it could be chalked outlined.

Nothing would have worked here. Sometimes there just aren't any cut and dried solutions to lifes "little" problems. It sounds like what this coward did surprised everyone.

At least he took himself out and saved the taxpayers the expense of a trial and his ensuing 6 years of incarceration.
