Bait guns! Just leave'em laying around in high crime neighborhoods...
And once we get that remote shutoff switch thingie ironed out, we can require them on all guns.

It must be nice for "The Only One's" to generally be free from prosecution on this stuff.
Free from prosecution, you have got to be joking.
The citizens are not only less two members but will have to pay all the cost from the lawsuits. Making idiot's mistakes crimes the taxpayers have to pay for.
I remember a similar case with a "bait" bicycle, on one of those cop reality shows. The surveillance tied up three two-man patrols, the bike was left UNLOCKED in front of a convenience store in a slum, someone stole it anyway and escaped, and they spent the rest of the night looking. It was an Olympic-class competition bike, very high-dollah.

They were actually doing that in Iraq for a while. They'd leave weapons or explosives by the side of the road, and anybody who touched them would be murdered by a sniper.
Officially the practice was stopped after it because public, but when governments officially stop doing something evil it generally just means they're doing a better job of covering it up.
Wait till all those snipers get back from Iraq and become SWAT officers...

I really don't understand the "bait car" program. I have found a stolen car that was left in the parking lot where I work. When I reported it to the police, they would not come out and do anything about it. We had to go through the car and find out information about the owner and call him ourselves.
Bait cars are just more expensive toys for the boys to play with.
