The Dead Samaritan

It's not clear, but it could well be that he thought if he indicated he had a gun the perp would simply flee. It's common enough to believe that. Big mistake. One should follow through and stop the threat, whatever it takes....Never ever think a perp will fold. Be ready to stop the threat aka using deadly force if necessary.
What he said.

Crying shame.
Two things people need to do and thats have the right training if they carry and know that in the right situation will use their firearm. Another thing is carrying your firearm in the cross draw doesn't advertise what you're doing as much. Nevertheless, if you carry on the side of your strong hand. Knowing the fastest way to your firearm is through your elbow. Your hand will always follow your elbow, sounds strange but its connected to follow. Too many times people raise their hand up high to get to their firearm, advertising their intention. By moving the elbow backwards, the hand will stay low at firearm grip level and your hand is on your firearm. A person need to learn how to do this and fire from the hip. Make darn sure you don't shoot your hand. Doing this in dry fire training is a way to get your skills up to speed. But training by a pro is the foundation.
Too bad this guy lost his life to some piece of shit punk.
