If Wishes Were Fishes, We'd All Join Mothers Against Gun Violence

The group Mothers Against Gun Violence holds its annual Community Vigil. Unfortunately it coincided with one of the most violent weekends of the summer.
So wishing something away doesn't make it so?

Dang--I'm gonna have to come up with another plan...

In the mean time, mothers, here are a few suggestions, for what they're worth: a strong and devoted father in the picture always helps and enabling bad behavior always hurts.

Maybe work the development end instead of the developed one.

But there I go wishing again.

Vigils and anti-violence demonstrations always give the demons a laugh. That, and telling stories about their latest kill.

Deliberately being helpless victims is about the worst "enabling" I can think of.

If these mothers really cared, or understood the question, they'd all be armed and trained to use those arms to defend themselves - and be diligently teaching the same to their children.

Somehow they've got to get past the idea that an inanimate object can cause violence. Wonder why we never hear of "automobile violence" after someone runs over a crowd on a sidewalk?

Inanimate object can influence people to commit crime. Inanimate fathers and mothers do it all the goddamned time.
