Showdown in Atlanta

Atlanta squares off against gun rights advocates Monday over whether people with the proper licenses should be able to carry weapons into so-called "nonsecure areas" of Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.

U.S. District Court Judge Marvin Shoob is scheduled to hear arguments from GeorgiaCarry.org, which has sued the city and the city-run airport. The group is asking for a temporary injunction to stop the city from enforcing the airport gun ban. Atlanta city attorneys will argue the gun ban should remain in place.
Keep an eye on this one. I'm sure the feds will.

Well David, the feds did. A federal judge just upheld the ban in the non-secure area of the airport.

All I know at this moment.

I saw the first blurb last night, but it didn't identify the judge or his level of bench. This morning I did discover to my chagrin that it was a federal judge. Obviously an unfit one, but federal nonetheless.

No the judge did not uphold the ban. The judge ruled against a temporary restraining order against Atlanta. The main part of the case has not been addressed yet. You can read about it at the Georgia Packing Forums. The media is just doing their usual job of distorting facts for socialist.
