Do as We Say

The ATF lost 76 weapons and hundreds of laptops over five years, the Justice Department reported Wednesday, blaming carelessness and sloppy record-keeping.

Thirty-five of the missing handguns, rifles, Tasers and other weapons were stolen, as were 50 laptops, the internal audit found. Two of the stolen weapons were used in crimes.
Here's the report.

And BATFU goons are trying to shut down gun dealers for form discrepancies and a "not properly bound" book?

The rules only apply to us.

Congressman Eric Cantor -- recently considered by McCain for vice prez, and Republican deputy Whip (sort of party navigator) -- assures me that the BATFE Modernization and Reform Act will cure them of their demonic possession and they will adopt puppies and take meals to homebound little old ladies INSTEAD OF SHOOTING THEM.
Fifteen years and five months after Waco, and counting...

And so what kind of disciplinary action is the Justice Dept. going to impose on the BATFE??

Who does have oversight of these guys? They certainly wouldn't hesitate to close down a gun dealer who "misplaced" 76 weapons, some of which were used in crimes.

Perhaps we need to get the Brady Bunch involved in trying to close down this dangerous threat to America's streets?

And don't forget getting Bloomberg to sue 'em and install his own compliance oversight monitors.
