Foreign Enemies

Matthew Bracken is back. Click on the title link for a sample from the forthcoming conclusion to his trilogy.

Here are my reviews of his first* and second books.

Matt tells me he's about 2/3 of the way through and he's shooting for an early 2009 release.

Good stuff. Can't wait.

And, of course I'll keep you posted.

Great news, I loved the first two and can't wait for the final one.

David, I'm a regular reader and so am surprised I missed this post when you first put it up. But having read the excerpt, I'm even more surprised you put it up.

I own Bracken's first book, and while it's not great fiction I found little to complain about. Posted excerpts from the second one kept me from buying it; all those EEEVIL dirty brown people. Just not my sort of thing, but if that was Bracken's kink who was I to tell him he couldn't have it?

Now with this third one I learn he's not too crazy about black people, either. C'mon - three weeks after an earthquake we've got institutional cannabalism? All them niggas gettin' likkered up and rapin' decent white wimmin? I haven't been so disgusted since I sampled The Turner Diaries, which is what this reads like.

Really, David. I expected better from Bracken, and I certainly expected better from you.

Joel, I sent your comment to Matt. I've given his response a standalone post:
