Address Gun Violence in Cities: As president, Barack Obama would repeal the Tiahrt Amendment, which restricts the ability of local law enforcement to access important gun trace information, and give police officers across the nation the tools they need to solve gun crimes and fight the illegal arms trade. Obama and Biden also favor commonsense measures that respect the Second Amendment rights of gun owners, while keeping guns away from children and from criminals who shouldn't have them. They support closing the gun show loophole and making guns in this country childproof. They also support making the expired federal Assault Weapons Ban permanent, as such weapons belong on foreign battlefields and not on our streets.So much for the lie that he's really gun-friendly and the NRA ad is false.
Also so much for the lie that he wants one set of controls for cities and one for rural areas--as everything mentioned here would be implemented on a national level, regardless of where you live.

What's interesting is the constant use of the language like "Obama would repeal" or "McCain would enact."
That's traditionally the job of the legislature.
Or the dictator.
OK. For some real presidential agenda, I submit:
"Kent would veto."
"Kent would pardon."
"Kent would explain."
These clowns have the city/country thing just backwards, don't they?
The city is where most of the predators are, so a personal sidearm is even more important there.
Of course, nobody's going to touch the one I carry in the country either. [grin]
And yes, the legislature used to make all of the stupid "laws." Now the government is an equal opportunity oppressor. The law is whatever any of them say it is...
Anybody notice that Obama has a section about "sportsmen" in which he claims that he won't take their guns?
Talk about speaking out of both sides of his azz - I mean - mouth...
