Just Who Gun Owners Need in the GOP

House Minority Leader John Boehner of Ohio will face at least one challenger for his leadership position: California Republican Rep. Dan Lungren announced today that he is running for the job.
Yeah, that's just what the GOP needs. I love the way they describe this mutt as a "social conservative."

It's really socially conservative being the guy who initiated confiscation of previously "legal" firearms in California--after he was the guy who said they were legal in the first place. Go ahead and go to that link--make sure you read it all, including supporting internal links, and especially this one.

But hey, that was then and this is now. Apparently, all has been forgiven.

I wonder if Bill Doss got his SKS Sporter back?

Lungren. Oh, yeah, I remember him from my California days.

All is not forgiven.

Reading about Lungren and Bill Doss is what set me on the road to SNBI. So I suppose I owe him one, in a way....

You know David I hadn't caught on to the NRA's endorsement of this anti-gun prick until you pointed it out.

And isn't this emblematic of everything that's wrong with the NRA?

Down here in Alabama, when a man has pissed down your back and told you it's raining, if you wish to be fair you take off your shirt and verify the yellow stain before kicking the shit out him. You do not grant his request for a glass of water and a diuretic so he can do it again. This is what the NRA has done with Lungren. What masochistic weasels.

And one other thing:

"Through a spokesman, Boehner released this statement: 'Dan Lungren is a respected member of our conference and a man deeply committed to the principles that have defined our party since the beginning.'”

I guess that's true if you consider Lincoln's actions a conspiracy against the Founder's republic. And Boehner wonders why he's back in the minority again? Hell, he can't tell the difference between excrement and breakfast.

As Michelle Malkin might say, sounds like another Crap Sandwich.

Imagine what a new AWB might be called.

Nevertheless, GOP House Minority Leader John Boehner and the House Republican leadership have thrown in the towel. Make room for them on the couch with Gingrich and Pelosi. Boehner called the deal a "crap sandwich," but told House Republicans he’ll vote for it.

Are you going to swallow this crap? Is your congressional representative?

California Attorney General Dan Lungren, once considered an ally of gun rights, reversed himself after he decided to run for governor last year, actually going so far as to write back to a man who had moved into his state from Florida, reversing an earlier ruling that the man could bring his little SKS semi-automatic rifle with him. William Doss, after receiving the second letter, presented the gun to California authorities for confiscation under the draconian Roberti-Roos civilian disarmament law.

Wading toward "the center" and away from his principles, Lungren managed to lose California's governorship to a Democrat for the first time in 16 years.
