I do wish people would stop using permits as the foundation for their argument, though. I never met a fellow human being I thought had the moral authority to give me permission to protect myself.

I hope only our side gets smart about the permits. The other side can talk all they want. It gives us more opportunity to ridicule the concept.
It's sort of like how Blagojevich refusing to vacate the office makes fair game out of all the dopey policies he supports.
