We're the Only Ones Scandalous Enough

The NPR series Dirty Money revealed how some police agencies abuse a law that allows them to confiscate suspected drug money. The problems continue, but in Texas that might be about to change. A police scandal has added urgency to reform efforts in the statehouse. [More]
But...but...but why would you need to make a change in law if "Only One" corruption is confined to "a few bad apples"...?

I'm surprised Nationalist People's Radio cares. Have they suddenly realized that the War on Drugs is mission-creeping into the war on the entire Bill of Rights, including their favorite, the First Amendment? That if they're going to criticize government policies they had better do it now, before it's a federal crime?
"Welcome to the party, pal!"

It's National Police Week, did you know?
local paper has a full-page ad by the Virginia State Police "Stamp Out Fraud" program. VSP Superintendent Steven Flaherty is prominently featured. Flaherty was also featured in the paper at the General Assembly supporting gun control.
VSP handles instant criminal record checks for gun purchases. They turned over that confidential information to ATF and local police during a gun show in recent years.
So if I see fraud, I'm certainly not going to call THEM. I feel more comfortable with the various criminals. At least they're only conning us out of our MONEY.

I saw some other blogger saying that she found good information on NPR on another subject (IIRC, it was MaxedOutMama at blogspot) This shows that NPR is not, as might be assumed on short acquaintance, a reliable *anti* authority. Neither is, I find myself compelled to acknowledge, is the ACLU. But ---

The ACLU's record on the RKBA, recapitulated in the Second Amemdment to the US Constitution,
is reliably bad. (Correct me if I'm wrong) I haven't researched NPR's past on the RKBA.

NPRs' record on the SA, having listened to them, and their "guests", is in line with Schumer and Feinstein. Their favorite seems to be the .50cal bringing down jetliners.
