I thought of naming him and his business, and even linking to his blog, but reconsidered. Nobody I know has ever heard of him, and it looks like he's intentionally trying to stir up controversy and get it to spread.
I see no reason to give him free publicity so the AHSA-holes can patronize him.

I am, and thanks for the warning. It's much better to avoid these people and their products. I learned my lesson when I pulled the trigger on my Gillibrand Sureshot Inline, and the barrel rotated 90 degrees downward and shot me in the foot.

Related question - when the Socialist State of Californicate finalizes a ban on 50 cal weapons, will they also apply that to black powder types in 58 cal and larger?

In my innocent youth, I would have hoped he was being sarcastic, his statement is so shocking. Background checks would give bored gun dealers something to do at gun shows, and the $5 fee is welcome? Not a bad trade for UNIVERSAL REGISTRATION OF GUN BUYERS and the logical destination: no more gun shows, no more gun purchases, no more business for Mr. Brilliant here. There's a "sporting goods shop" near here that proudly announced it would never sell semi-auto "assault weapons," only good all-American hunting rifles. I wonder if they sell the type of knives Customs wants banned, or scoped rifles on the Brady "sniper gear" list. The fact that they're still in business is disturbing. Too many Fudds. We have a big gun store that has a home office in UT that take copies of your drivers lic. and CWL to buy a gun. I called the home office about this conduct and they told me they do it for their insurance company.
Asking anything more than what the law demands is no in the best interest of the citizens. If nothing else these copies of ID's will not be as secure as the 4473 forms and could open up customers for ID scams.
We have a lot of treasonous scum selling firearms. Don't do business with them and make sure you tell a friend.
