Mabell Labe

Fellow patrons had their cellphones temporarily confiscated to prevent pictures from being taken. [More]
The nerve of these people.

I'd have refused and dealt with the consequences. Seriously. There's no way I would consent to this.

UPDATE: Some have reported problems accessing this. It still works for me, but for those of you who can't make the link work, here's a screen shot with red underscoring added by me:

We can't have unauthorized journalist taking pictures. Oh, the humanity!

If it were me, I would have said, "Being in her presence has caused me to lose my appetite.", and then I would leave.

Story's gone. Have another link or more information? I don't have any idea what it's all about.

Well, the audacity of the peasants bothering royalty! Really, its a wonder they were not removed/disappeared on the spot. Too many witnesses maybe, next time.....

David, comment I saw elsewhere.

Maybe the war that shall not be named was in play here?

The "insurgents" in the country we "invaded for oil" were making IEDs triggers out of cell phones, were they not?

Seems like a mighty stupid thing for the SS to do in that case as the phone itself could be the bomb. Yeah it's a long shot, but google cell phone gun.

I'd rather the First Sasquatch be back in her racist america hating church paling around with domestic terrorists then becoming some kind of martyr to the red left.

As for the kids, leave at home with her mom if she doesn't want them to be in pics. Perhaps she's not proud of carry out.

possibility? Still ABSOLUTE bullshit, but an alternative to the ego that I think is actually the case.

Imagine the fun... I would have gladly given them my cell phone... but I carry a Nikon DSL pretty much everywhere that I dont let out of my grasp...

So were the patrons already in the place patted down for weapons too?

Aww hell no! I wouldn't have surrendered either my phone OR my pistol!

I hear that a palm smash to the ear in which they have the earpiece really hurts. It's not every day that you have a good reason to fight a Secret Service agent. That'd really be something to tell the grandkids about! On the other hand, they've probably adopted a more professional, less stupid policy by now.

Naw, the reason that they took away everyones cell phone, was 'cause since this Obamaroid is so butt ugly, they did not want to put up with any lawsuits for the destruction of the camera features in the cell phones, which was sure to happen.

Seriously though, I, for one would not have surrendered my cell phone, if I even had one, which I don't.

They want to avoid pictures of the "Washing Machine" - Michelle chewing with her mouth open.

It took me a sec, reading thru the post, to get the title. I kept thinking it was something to do with 'Maybelline' (God knows M.O. needs SOMETHING...) Yeh, I know, there's no 'y'
Ma Bell. Duh. I remember now...

WV---Herti: What Anon 10:24 is gonna geti. Dude, you'll be telling the grandkids from behind the glass on visitation day...if those goons don't decide to have you black-bagged.
