We're the Only Ones Exonerated Enough

Two police officers now allege that off-duty Deputy Police Chief David Chartrand was "highly intoxicated" on the September night his own officers almost shot him, but Police Chief Kevin Richardson said he's not changing the investigation that exonerates his deputy. [More]
No, and why would we expect him to? Besides, as we clearly see, being a drunk "first responder" is well within department policy norms,

What good would it do being an "Only One" if such treatment wasn't a right of office? Including not being shot...?

"He said it will be hard to set liquor limits for off-duty officers, because people have different tolerance levels for alcohol."

And don't you just know that he takes that into account for the drivers he stops.

Further, why would the officers shoot a man who was just walking toward them, up until they recognized the deputy chief that was their plan. Pity some poor sonofabitch just getting home from the late shift who isn't a deputy chief.
