So you're right in following leads here. But you're wrong in thinking you'll find anything--yet. And certainly not in old posts.
Suffice it to say I'm doing my part. And hope to maybe help satisfy some of your curiosity before too long.
Maybe we'll even get some hearings going.

It seems that with a 0 seconds of time spent on your blog, that is it a robot program sucking up data.
More sophisticated than just a person, poking around. They are looking for some pattern of interconnectedness in the blog-0-sphere.
Possibly but not necessarily, Hollywood--from the Site Meter FAQ:
Why do some of my visitors have visit lengths of 0:00?
Solution That means the visitors are only staying to view a single page and then leaving. The only way that Site Meter knows how long someone is on a site is by the times of each page view. If they only look at a single page and then leave, we don't know how long they looked at the page. If they looked at two pages and left we would know they at least were on the site during the time of the first page view and the second page view. The difference between those two times would be the length of the visit.
Thanks for the info, that makes sense. Sorry about that, when dealing with the .gov crowd, I tend to jump to the most sinister answer. You'd be amazed at how often I'm right :-)
