By Whose Authority?

There will also be no sale or purchase of any type of firearm, ammunition, explosive or any possession of such items off a person's own premises. [More]
Who ordered this?

And how does that square with this?
Our people place a high priority on patriotism.

This is over snow. They seem to have a degrading view of the folks of King to treat them this way.

Uh, the concepts are orthogonal? (So they square at a 90-degree angle.)

If I'm not mistaken, there is no Katrina-like law in NC. In other words, when a state of emergency is declared, the state and/or local authoritahs can and do prohibit firearm possession outside the home. Violation is a felony, which, of course, makes one a prohibited person. How convenient for the JBTs.

Not that a Katrina-like law would fix the problem.

Depending on the legal definition of 'premises', the person's vehicle can be an extension of it....

These people make me want to throw up.

I wonder how many 'only ones' pistols, shotguns and M4geries were left laying about in bathrooms, restaurants and donut shops during the 'state of emergency'?

It is a misdemeanor under North Carolina law for a person to transport or possess, off his or her own premises, a dangerous weapon in an area during a declared state of emergency, or in the vicinity of a riot. N.C. Gen. Stat. § 14-288.7 A concealed handgun permit does not allow a permittee to carry a weapon in these areas . N.C. Gen. Stat. § 14-415.11(c)
