If the 11-year-old girl had been forced to shoot, the Bradyites would have added it to their statistics of children shooting other "children." The guys look like they're in their 20s.
If the rifle had been "locked up for your safety," this could have been a home invasion/robbery/rape/murder instead of the happy ending that it is.
A passing cop -- with a gun -- arrested the guys as they fled. The family says they know one of the perps. Nice house, nice stuff, an apparent opportunity, and some people will take advantage.
Look for them in the news again after they're paroled.

Oh, no! A child had access to an evil pink rifle! Lock up the parents! Send the child to a psychologist for counseling!

Didn't bother to watch it, it seems one cannot scratch ones behind without HAVING A GD COMMERCIAL SHOVED IN THEIR FACE.

The family locked their child away from three masked burglars, but the crowbar on the locked door made that effort irrelevant.

Even better, the family gave the child the ability and tools necessary to defend herself. However, with only two rounds available for three burglars, she could only hope that they stood in front of each other for a twofer.

Somebody get that girl a ticket to an Appleseed.
She is the kind of youngster we are gonna need if we are going to right the ship of state.

I hope my *13*-year-old granddaughter would be as cool in a crisis.
Meanwhile in England, a single mass shooting continues to pay dividends. Got shotgun license? Not for long.
The tiny boy in the photo seems to be carrying a popgun, or a pump pellet gun at worst. Scary, to some. Especially along with the dreaded camouflage T-shirt.
