We're the Only Ones Kind of a Drag Enough

The Culpeper woman fatally shot by a local police officer Thursday morning had closed her driver's side window and was dragging the officer alongside her as she drove away, according to new information from the Virginia State Police. [More]
That would be the woman whose neighbor described her as "really nice, and always smiling and laughing with you."

Thing is, her husband says "his wife's car had no power windows."

And a witness says it didn't happen the way police are claiming
He describes an encounter which looked and sounded like the officer shooting a person a point blank range,  not because he feared for his life, but because the woman did not obey his order to stop rolling up the window.

Funny--we know the child-loving Sunday School volunteer victim's name, her husband's name, the witness's name...but we still don't know "the officer's" name...that must not be in the public interest to disclose.

After reading all of the articles. I think something is wrong with this whole story. Why would a otherwise nice lady decide to suddenly decide to assault a cop? One of the witnesses said the cop had a hand on the door handle and a hand on his weapon. Maybe the cop has a third arm? It sounds a whole lot like she didn't want to deal with him. Maybe he was being a asshole (wouldn't be the first). maybe he thought her disrespect deserved the death penalty.

I'm glad this is getting picked up. It's local to me and horribly fails the sniff test.

If VSP needs a 'cop shooting investigating' squad I'd suggest there's a problem down there.

Almost sounds like an incident out of Humble, Texas last year when a cop loosed an 'unintentional' round into an alleged car thief's head when the alleged perp would not roll his window down. We believe the cop tried to bust the window with; a) the business end of his piece, and, b) with his booger hook on the bang button. He was back at work about a week later.

I have power windows. How fast can they be to have been able to trap a cop's arm? I tried to trap my arm. I couldn't do it unless the window was already almost up. The driver would have had to hold the cop in place.

They should release the cop's name so that the scumbag can get what he deserves from some right-minded folks. Do that to a few cops who decide to take the role of judge, jury, and executioner, and perhaps they'll be a little less hasty on the trigger finger, and less inclined to lie about it afterward.
